Privacy Policy

01Overview

StubKeeper is a personal daybook for receipts, expenses, bills, subscriptions, and the things you own. It is designed to run on your device. There are no accounts to create, and no advertising or product analytics embedded in the app. Features that touch the network — such as cloud backup — are opt-in.

This policy explains the limited circumstances in which any information is involved, and the choices you have.

02Information We Collect

We do not collect your personal information on our own servers. The receipts you scan, the expenses you log, the bills and assets you track, and any notes or photos you add all remain on your device.

We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or payment details to use the app. There is no login, so we never see credentials.

03On-Device Storage

Your records are stored in a local database on your device and are protected at rest using your operating system's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore). Access to that data is governed by your device's own lock screen and security settings.

If you delete the app, the local data associated with it is removed by your operating system in the normal way.

04Optional Cloud Backup

You may optionally enable backup through your own iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account. When enabled, an encrypted copy of your database is stored in your personal cloud account — not ours. We never receive, access, or hold the encryption keys.

Backup is off unless you turn it on, and you can disable it at any time. Your use of iCloud or Google Drive is also subject to Apple's or Google's respective privacy policies.

05No Product Analytics or Tracking

StubKeeper contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, or similar tools. We do not know what you scan, what you tag, how often you open the app, or whether you opened it at all.

We do not build profiles, sell data, or share information with advertisers.

06Receipt Scanning & OCR

Text recognition (OCR) on scanned receipts is performed on your device, with no internet needed. Your receipt images and the extracted text are processed locally and are not uploaded to us. On-device OCR isn't perfect — the app shows you what it read and lets you correct any field before saving.

07Data Export & Deletion

You can export your receipts, expenses, and assets as CSV or PDF at any time directly from the app. Your archive is yours to keep, move, or delete. Removing a record, or uninstalling the app, deletes the corresponding local data from your device.

08Children's Privacy

StubKeeper is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. Because we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect information from children.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect new features or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note the change within the app.
